Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to all participants of the Christchurch Move Challenge (“the Challenge”, “we”, “us”, “our”).
By joining the Challenge, purchasing a membership or Starter Pack, or participating in any related activity, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

This is a city-wide challenge that rewards effort and consistency, not performance
Any workout counts and participation is voluntary
Membership is billed monthly and can be cancelled anytime
Myzone devices are one-time purchases
Monthly prizes are drawn fairly based on points earned
You take part at your own risk
If the Challenge ever ends, we’ll give at least one month’s notice
We’re building this in good faith, with fairness and community at the centre.
1. About the Challenge
The Christchurch Move Challenge is a fitness initiative designed to encourage regular movement by rewarding effort and consistency.
Open to individuals aged 12 years or older
Open to all fitness levels and workout styles
No requirement to belong to any specific gym or facility
Any form of physical activity may count
Participation is optional and self-directed.
2. Membership, Payments & Cancellation
Membership
Memberships are billed monthly in advance
Billing occurs on the 1st of each month
Your first month may be included as part of a Starter Pack or promotion
Membership provides access to the Christchurch Move Challenge while active
There are no contracts or minimum terms.
Founding Membership
Founding Member pricing is limited and offered at our discretion
Founding Members retain their agreed pricing while their membership remains active
If a membership is cancelled and later rejoined, Founding pricing may no longer apply
Cancelling Your Membership
You can cancel your membership at any time.
To cancel, you can:
Use the billing or cancellation link provided in your Stripe billing emails, or
Email us directly at [email protected]
Cancellations must be made before the next billing date to avoid being charged for the following month.
Once cancelled:
Your membership remains active until the end of the current billing period
No further charges will be made after that period
We do not offer partial refunds for unused time within a billing period.
3. Starter Packs & Devices
Starter Packs include a Myzone device and the first month of membership
Devices are a one-time purchase
Shipping or local pickup options are selected at checkout
Once a device has been shipped or collected, change-of-mind refunds are not available unless required under New Zealand consumer law.
Myzone devices are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.
4. Myzone Tracking & Points
Points are calculated using data provided by Myzone
Participants are responsible for ensuring their device is functioning correctly
We are not responsible for:
Device malfunctions
Syncing issues
App outages
Inaccurate or missing data
All Myzone trademarks, systems, and technology remain the property of their respective owners.
5. Prizes & Draws
The Christchurch Move Challenge includes optional monthly prize draws for active members.
Prize draws are based on points earned through recorded activity during the relevant month.
Each 1,000 points earned equals one (1) entry into the monthly prize draw.
Prize types, quantities, and values may vary from month to month and are determined at the discretion of Christchurch Move Challenge.
Prize draws are not skill-based competitions and are conducted at random from eligible entries.
Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash unless explicitly stated.
Christchurch Move Challenge reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value if necessary.
Winners will be contacted using the details provided at signup.
Unclaimed prizes after 14 days may be forfeited.
6. Fair Use & Community Conduct
Participants agree to:
Take part honestly and in good faith
Not manipulate devices, data, or systems to gain unfair advantage
Treat other participants and community members respectfully
We reserve the right to suspend or remove participants from the Challenge or community spaces if behaviour does not align with the values of fairness, respect, and integrity.
7. Health & Safety Disclaimer
Participation is undertaken at your own risk.
The Christchurch Move Challenge:
Does not provide medical or health advice
Does not assess individual fitness levels
Is not responsible for injuries, illness, or health outcomes
Participants should consult a qualified health professional before starting any new exercise routine.
8. Optional Services
Optional services (such as body composition scans, events, or in-person activities) are:
Not required to participate in the Challenge
Offered separately from the core membership
Subject to availability and any additional terms provided at the time
9. Challenge Changes or Cancellation
We may update, pause, or cancel the Christchurch Move Challenge with at least one month’s notice provided to active members.
If the Challenge is cancelled:
No further membership charges will be taken after the notice period
Any prizes earned or drawn during an active period will still be honoured
10. Events Outside Our Control
We are not responsible for delays or disruptions caused by events outside our reasonable control, including system outages, supplier delays, courier issues, or third-party service interruptions.
11. Privacy
Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Information collected is used only to:
Operate the Challenge
Communicate with participants
Administer memberships, devices, and prizes
12. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
